Project Statement:

In this project, we started by dipping random household items into the ink mix, then using them as a wet medium. We used this inked item to create unique "marks" on a piece of paper. After that we need to match specific words with abstract tokens created by the object. The ultimate goal is to use the "marks" to draw and design a particular "uncommon" word object.

Design Process:

At the very beginning, I didn't have a very clear design idea in my mind when I first used the objects that had encroached into the ink to "mark" on white paper. I just paint on paper using objects randomly and haphazardly. However, after I drew two complete "marks" on two sheets of paper, I looked at them and a few words came to my mind. At first, some of these words I thought of were too simple, such as chaos, messy, liquid, war and so on. However, finally after my brainstorming, I settled on a final word, venom. I think it's a very cool word, and it's a good proxy for the "marks" I create. Then I further expanded and designed on the basis of the "marks" I created at the beginning. I used design software to create this final work.

Design Solution:

At the beginning of starting this project, I thought for a long time about the choice of word. I hope I can find a word that harmonizes with the images I make. The most important thing is that the words and concepts I choose can be enhanced by the images you make, and together they communicate my concepts clearly and powerfully. Then after the word selection is determined, the design is based on the original "mark", and my words are added to it. The design process is also relatively long, and I have made many different attempts. It is also the first time for me to contact and use the functions of many design software. I encountered and solved many new challenges in the process of creating word images.
